Fireworks: Out With a Bang!

fireworksAs Independence Day is just days away I think about the July 4th traditions that have been passed on through the years since that historic day in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was signed making us a free nation. Or did it? What is it that makes us free?

I have freedoms and rights that are granted to me because I live in this country, and I am proud and blessed to stand behind those who sacrificed in order to serve and those who gave their lives for the rights and freedoms that do exist here.

At the same time when I look around me, people aren’t free. America is not exempt from the sex trafficking. The statistics are staggering!

“No one is free when others are oppressed”

This time of year brings celebrations, BBQ’s, picnics, gatherings of family and friends, and FIREWORKS.

In 1776 it was the sound of the bombs and the rockets that gave the hope that our flag (the cause believed in) was still raised. This year, let the Forth go out with a bang! Raise the cause of freedom high, for the lives that are forced into human trafficking, let the sound of the fireworks be a hope that we are still in the fight.
